Where is Bell Tent Glamping?

Bell Tent Glamping has two sites in Hampshire. One is at Royal Victoria Country Park in Southampton and the other is at Marwell Zoo near Winchester.

Bell Tent Glamping at Marwell Zoo

Right beside Marwell Zoo, Bell Tent Glamping is a fun-filled way to enjoy Marwell Zoo and the Winchester area. This is glamping in luxury! They have beds, electric heating which keeps you toasty and crockery, and cooking utensils. You can BBQ outside or light your own fire for those dark evenings. You can find Bell Tent Glamping at Marwell Wildlife, Thompsons Lane, Winchester, Hampshire SO21 1JH.

Bell Tent Glamping at Royal Victoria Country Park

Based on the grounds of Royal Victoria Country Park, Bell Tent Glamping is a great place to explore the country park while glamping. This is a great place for the whole family to come.

Parking is right next to each tent. These luxury glamping tents are like nothing you’ve been in before! They are fully carpeted, have beds for up to four people, and full electric heating, crockery, and cooking utensils. The only thing you need to bring is the food and your duvets. You can find Bell Tent Glamping at Royal Victoria Country Park, The Stables, Netley, Southampton SO31 5GA.

What is in a Bell Tent Glamping tent?

All the glamping pods have an electric fire which helps keeps the tent warm. They really work! We have been twice, once in August 2021 and again in May 2022 and both times the heater was amazing and made the tent really warm.

The bell tents have carpets on the floor to help keep the cold out and have 1 double bed with a fitted sheet and 2 single beds. Each tent is made for four people but you can bring another child if you have a blow-up bed or they don’t mind sharing. You do need to bring your own pillows and duvets for each bed.

They do have a huge empty trunk that is great to put items in. We normally store our non-perishable food in here like crisps and snacks.

They also have a lamp that easily light’s up the tent.

We normally bring our own fairy lights for outside the tent and an extension lead for phone charges as they only have one plug.

What are the facilities like at Bell Tent Glamping?

They have great facilities at both the Marwell Zoo and Royal Victoria Country Park sites.

At the Royal Victoria campsite, they have a purposed built building that is their kitchen and storage area. They have everything you need for a self-catering stay including all cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, microwave, kettle, fridge, freezer, and an electric BBQ that you can use. They have free tea and coffee and dedicated space to put any items you need into the fridge.

At Marwell Zoo campsite, they have pretty much the same but instead of a building, they have a marquee with cooking equipment right next door.

Both sites have a dedicated toilet and shower block that is open 24 hours a day. They supply all the soap and toilet rolls so you don’t need to pack them yourself.

Dogs are welcome on both Bell Tent Glamping sites but they do need to be on leads in the campsite area.

Right outside your tent are a bench and an area for you to have a fire or a BBQ on. All that is asked is that you clean it up afterward when it’s cooled down. Big bins are provided for you onsite.

You can check in from 1pm to 10pm but do need to check out by 10am at both campsites.

How much does it cost?

The price really does depend on the time of year you are going.

If you are booking in a group then please remember that they only take adults and children, no hen or stag dos. Have a look at their website here to check your date and prices.

If you are looking to book more than one tent, then have a look at their website. They have a clear map of which tent is which.

Is there any parking at Bell Tent Glamping?

Yes, there is parking at both campsites. You can park right next to your tent so that you can unpack easily. Parking is free at both campsites.

What to do while you are staying at Bell Tent Glamping

There is so much to do at both campsites as they are made completely for families who want to relax and enjoy everything that nature has to offer.

Things to do at Royal Victoria Country Park campsite

If you have booked for the Royal Victoria Country Park campsite then you are in for a real treat. Royal Victoria Country Park has everything you need for a great holiday getaway.

Bring your bikes as Royal Victoria Country Park has loads of cycle trails through the forest and on the coast that are great for older kids.

For younger kids, they have a huge playground. It has a range of fully accessible play equipment and a huge climbing frame, slide, zip wire, and swings.

You really can spend all day at Royal Victoria Country Park as there is something to do for everyone. We start by taking a walk to the play area, then past the steam train and through the woodland. We then stop for lunch and have a picnic on the furthest field, away from the historic Chapel as it can get quite busy in the middle field in the summer. We then pack up and walk down to the seafront for a dip before walking up the small hill and playing games for the rest of the afternoon.
