Is Lepe Country Park dog friendly?
Yes, Lepe Country Park is dog friendly. There is a large field at the top of the hill which leads onto the beach further down.
How much does parking cost at Lepe Country Park?
There are two car parks at Lepe Country Park. One at the top of the hill and one at the bottom, by The Lookout cafe. They currently cost up to 1 hour £2.50, up to 2 hours £5.00, Up to 4 hours £7.00, and full-day £9.00.
What to do at Lepe Country Park
Lepe Country Park is great for the whole family and is a great day out.
Beach
There are two beaches at Lepe Country Park. The first one, by the bottom car park at The Lookout, is shingles. It is a family beach and has restrictions on dogs during the summer months.
The second beach is sandy and this is further along, by The Spit. During low tide, The Spit can be used to walk up and down but please watch the tide times as it can get very dangerous at times.
Walking trails
Lepe Country Park has a five-mile loop that takes you through the Hampshire countryside and right by the seaside.
The path is mostly loose stones so you will need some walking boots or wellies on wet days.
Nature reserve
Lepe Country Park is also a nature reserve. It is home to some amazing birds and wildlife that like to keep to themselves in the long grass areas.
If you get a chance, walk to the pond and meadow where you are sure to spot a dragonfly or frog. By the beach, you may see the odd crab. Take a net and buckle and see what you can find.
Play area
Based right at the top of the hill, by the cafe, the play area is great for all ages. It has swings, climbing frames and purpose build structures to swing on.
Set right on the field, you can also have a picnic here or play a game of football or frisbee. It’s pretty flat at the top so the kids could even ride their bikes.

Food and drink
The cafe at Lepe Country Park at called The Lookout. It’s a purpose-built building that offers hot meals inside and snack items on the outside.
You can also hire a BBQ area that caters for up to 60 people. These are by the play area at the top of the hill.
