There’s loads of Halloween events in Hampshire that are perfect for the whole family. These October half term activities are great regardless of if your kids like Halloween or not!

Be brave and enjoy the haunted attractions throughout Hampshire. There’s plenty of events going on that are perfect for all ages of children, from community events to days out ideas.

Halloween Events For All Ages 2024

Halloween in Hampshire offers a plethora of exciting events that cater to all ages and tastes. From family-friendly activities to spine-chilling experiences, there is something for everyone to enjoy this spooky season. Whether you’re looking for frightful fun or family-oriented festivities, Hampshire has loads of events that promise an unforgettable experience filled with seasonal charm.

Happy Halloween at Paultons Park

Pumpkins scattered around Paultons Park

Paultons Park, based in Romsey, is also the home of Peppa Pig World. Paultons Park go all out at Halloween with over 4000 pumpkins scattered throughout the park.

They offer spooky scenes, Halloween decorations plus plenty of ways to see Peppa and George dressed up in their Halloween costumes too.

For the older kids, the park opens a bit later so you can enjoy all the rides lit up as the sun goes down.

You do need to book in advance and your tickets give you access to the whole park, not just the Halloween events! It’s a great place for the whole family.

Free spooky half term fun at Fort Nelson

Come and play spooky games and enjoy free Halloween party activities this October half term at Fort Nelson.

Children can enjoy face-painting, spooky storytelling, crafts, games and colouring on week-days from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November.

A spooky trail will also run at the Victorian fort with younger visitors challenged to find all the ghoulish ghosts and create their own Halloween story, every day from Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November.

Children are welcome to get in the Halloween spirit and dress up in their best Halloween costumes or come as they are.

Fort Nelson has limited capacity on site, so visitors are advised to book their visit online in advance to guarantee your visit.

Fort Nelson is a great place to visit at any time of the year but as the days get shorter this historic Victorian fort, with its underground tunnels and secret chambers, is particularly atmospheric.

The fort is home to the Royal Armouries national collection of artillery with pieces from across the world, spanning 600 years of history. As a national museum, admission to Fort Nelson is free.

Spooky Spells Halloween Trail at Itchen Valley Country Park

This is a spooky Halloween trail that is running from Friday 25th October – Sunday 3rd November, 10am – 4.30pm. 

Join in the fun this half – term at Itchen Valley! They have lots of spooky activities to keep your little ones entertained with a themed trail and Halloween crafts.

Halloween Potions Trail With Wilma the Witch at Hinton Ampner

If you’re looking for some frightfully good family fun this half term, then come and join Wilma the Witch on her potions trail!

Hidden in the haunted trail of Hinton Ampner’s gardens are the ingredients Wilma needs for her magic potion. You’ll need to race on your broomstick, toss a ring onto the witch’s hat, move your pet spider through the maze and more to complete the challenge and make the potion!

Trails are £2, normal admission fee applies.

 They are also have an amazing pumpkin display with over 200 pumpinks with photo opportunities all over the property.

Halloween in the Gardens at Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum and Gardens

There is so much to do at Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum and Gardens this half term. They have: 

Wicked Fun in the Woods – Family Bushcraft on Saturday 26th October, 10am – 12noon and 1pm – 3pm.

Spooky Halloween Bakes on Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November, 10am – 4.30pm.

Pumpkin Carving from Tuesday 29th October to Thursday 31st October. 

Autumn is Wicked Trail which runs until Saturday 30 November. 

Please book all these in advance as they may sell out on the day. This is a great kid friendly event.

The Halloween Family Film Night at The Dart’s cinema room is great for the whole family. It’s the perfect way to enjoy some spooky fun with the whole family during October half-term.

This party starts at 4pm. It includes live music, roaring bonfire & hog roast. No booking required.

Kids Halloween Party at Rising Sun Colden Common

This party starts at 2pm and is free entry for all. There is a dressing up competion and games.

Halloween Family Forest School at Itchen Valley Country Park

Join Family Forest School for some spooky fun in the woods this half term! Perfect for ages 2-11. 

Using the tools, saws and drills to make a pumpkin or ghost, leaf print ghosts, make a bird feeder, potion making in our mud kitchen, brew some spells, make some wonderful concoctions, even make up and practice your own brews and spells. 

Ending the session with toasting your own Spooky S’mores on the campfire. Parents can join in too

Hot and cold drinks included (please feel free to bring reusable cups to save on waste)

**Fancy dress optional, but may need to be removed for tool use and around the fire due to safety.**

Family Fright Night Halloween at Funland

The cafe is open as normal on the 25th October from 930am – 4pm.

Pumpkin Patch Party at Sweet Peas Play Cafe

Pumpkin Patch Party is 2.5 hours of fun fun fun. There are games, prizes, creepy crafts, treasure hunt, glitter tattoos and face painting, themed party food, sweet bags, Sweet Peas Roleplay and a surprise guest.

Boo at the Zoo

There will be plenty of treats at Marwell Zoo this October half-term as they embrace everything autumnal this spooky season.

Lowedolf, Marwell’s resident wizard will be teaching little ghouls, ghosts and witches how to fly a broomstick like a pro in our dedicated broomstick flying area.

Children will be taught in groups of 15 and those who successfully complete the course will be awarded with their level one broomstick flying badge.

Don’t worry if you don’t have time to sort a costume before you arrive, our face painters will be on hand to transform your little pumpkins on the day.

Facepainting will be available from 11am to 3pm at an additional cost of £5 per face and broomstick flying runs from 10:45am to 3:15pm and costs £3 per child.

If our flying course doesn’t get you warmed up enough, our firepits will be up and running with marshmallows and s’mores kits available – additional cost applies.

Café Graze will be keeping everyone well-fuelled with pumpkin spiced lattes, Halloween cupcakes and pumpkin soup.

Autumn is a beautiful time to get outdoors and admire the changing colours of Marwell’s 140 acre parkland while learning more about more than 140 species of rare and endangered animals.

Marwell is home to a number of spooky species including vampire crabs, pink salmon tarantula, yellow throated frogs and royal pythons.

Plus, meet the adorable new giraffe calf and zebra foal, penguins, tamarins, pygmy hippos and white rhino.

Join InAndover for their super spooky Halloween Scavenger Hunt. Find them in the InAndover Gazezo on Andover High Street to collect your entry form and enjoy the fun around town.

Splat Messy Play Halloween Special at Splat Messy Play

Come join Splat Messy Play on Wednesday 30th October at 1030am.  This is at KCC in Hedge End. 

It will be a combination of Splat babies and Splat mixed ages so basically everyone’s welcome to come and join in the fun!

Silly Scott’s Spooktacular Halloween Event at Wickham Community Centre

This fun Halloween event is on Saturday 26th October, 4pm -6pm, with host Silly Scott, there will be a Fangtasic UV Disco, Ghoulish Games and a Fun family friendly Halloween themed Spooky Magic Show.

This is an event for all ages, and you can come in Halloween costume and enjoy some games. 

Refreshments, snacks and sweets will be available during the event.

The West Express Pumpkin Patch at J. West Seasonal Store

Join J. West Seasonal Store for their Pumpkin Patch ride. This is running from the 19th, 20th, 26th-31st October. 9am – 4pm but booking is a must. 

This is a 50-minute return ride with a stop at the pumpkin patch and with a stop for photos.

Twilight Halloween Maze at Picking Patch

This fun event is running from 12th,19th, 26th, from 7pm- 8.30pm.

There is a whole lot of spooky fun so enjoy some evening pumpkin picking in dusk from 6pm.

Hot food and drinks available, but most importantly MARSHMALLOWS to toast over the fire. Limited availability, so book now for the best times.
