Farms in Hampshire

There are loads of great farms and zoos in Hampshire that are great for the whole family. We’ve included some great farms and zoos that are great for babies.

Manor Farm and River Hamble Country Park

Part of River Hamble Country Park, Manor Farm has all the classic animals that you’d expect from cows, horses, and goats. They have a great playground with a Blacksmith and an old school that the kids can explore.

They have a huge inside soft play for babies and older kids. It’s a great place to let your baby have fun as it’s also got a soft play barrier to stop them from escaping. The older area is great for kids aged seven plus. It has huge climbing frames, slides, and adventure play equipment that will keep them entertained for ages. This is also where you will find the picnic benches and a small cafe that sells all kinds of sweet treats like ice creams and cake.

Manor Farm can be found at River Hamble Country Park, Southampton, SO31 1BH.

Blue Reef Aquarium

Right on Southsea Seafront, Blue Reef Aquarium is a great way for the whole family to explore the wonders of the sea. They have everything you need including a shark walk and rays and crabs. They have a great little splash park overlooking the seafront in the summer months.

Blue Reef Aquarium can be found at Clarence Esplanade, Southsea, Portsmouth, Southsea PO5 3PB

Marwell Zoo

With over 100 animals including tigers, rhinos, and penguins, Marwell Zoo is a huge 140-acre park that is a great day out for the whole family. The grounds are really even so great for a pushchair or sling. The smaller animals are really interactive, our favorite are the lemurs.

There are also loads of places you can stop to feed your baby like inside the many cafes or on one of the many outside picnic benches. Many of the animal houses can also be accessed with a buggy as well.

Swimming classes

Swimming lessons are a great way to help your baby not only improve their swimming skills but also give them the water confidence that they need to really enjoy swimming.

Wessex Swim School

Wessex Swim School offers a range of different lessons throughout Hampshire. Starting with baby classes right up to older kids, they offer three in a class up to stage 5. They have lessons in Regents Park Community College, Bishop’s Waltham Junior School and Sports Direct Fitness. Check their website for their timetable.

Turtle Tots

Turtle Tots South Hampshire offer a range of lessons throughout East Hampshire. They teach in small groups with the teacher in the pool. Find out more by looking at their website.

Senga’s Swim School

Based in West End, Southampton, Senga’s Swim School offers your children a water experience in a private pool in West End with a maximum of three in a class. Daytime sessions are available for babies and toddlers plus after-school lessons for older kids.

Gardens and Lakes

Walking around local parks and gardens is a great way to get youself and your baby out the house. The great thing is that we have so many amazing places to visit throughout Hampshire.

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens

We love Sir Harold Hillier Gardens as it’s a great day for the whole family. Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is in Romsey just outside of the town. They have their own huge car park that is free to use. You do need to buy a ticket beforehand to enter.

Once you are inside these amazing gardens you are free to wander around as you wish. These gardens are set over 180 acres of land that is ready for you to explore. There is loads of do with the kids including a playground, treehouse, huge lake and loads of different walks to discover. Hide in the trees, have a picnic in any of the secluded spots and enjoy the many activities they put on throughout the year.

Southampton Common

This lovely common just outside of the main city is a green getaway. Parking can be found throughout the outer rim of the country park. It’s perfect for bikes, prams and those with limited mobility as the paths are all paved. The country park has a cafe and toilets near the playground plus a huge amount of space for the whole family to explore.

Royal Victoria Country Park

Right on Netley seafront, this country park has everything you need for a fun day trip out for the whole family. Enjoy the seaside views from the stony beach or play on one of the three massive green fields. It has a huge adventure playground, a steam train and a great little cafe with toilets on site.

Monkey Music have been offering their weekly music classes since 1993. Children can join age-specific classes anytime between 3 months and 4 years. Monkey music says that by the time your child reaches 4 years old, they will have developed a sound musical knowledge and be ready to learn a musical instrument.

Totcity Roleplay Centre is a great attraction for toddlers. They offer loads of different sections that means the kids can dress up and play pretend. The play area includes a garage, hair and beauty salon, supermarket, cafe, and doctor’s surgery.

Partyman World Eastleigh

Based in The Swan Centre, Partyman World Eastleigh is a huge soft play that has a ball pit, huge slide, and a dedicated baby area. They have a climbing wall for the bigger kids and loads of seats for the grown-ups. The staff are really great with the kids and offer loads of activities like face painting and balloon making too.
