Calshot Beach is a mile-long shingle beach that is great for the whole family. Calshot Beach has the best views of Southampton Water and Lee-On-Solent.
The nearest town is Lymington which is the West of Hampshire near the Solent. Set in the beautiful New Forest, Lymington has a rich sailing history and pretty cottages with plenty of walks.

Calshot Beach parking
You can find Calshot Beach car park at SO45 1BR. It’s a long-term car park with over 300 spaces. It costs £1 for an hour, £2 for two hours and £3 for four hours.
They also have other car parks close to the beach and toilets on-site.
Is Calshot Beach dog-friendly?
Yes, Calshot Beach is dog friendly. Take a nice morning walk around the beach huts and on the stones. The sunrise is amazing from the beach.

Lepe Country Park
A stony beach with patches of sand, Lepe has lots to offer! It was a tarmac path along the seafront and plenty of rock pools when the tide goes out. There’s a huge car park right by the beach and a playground a short walk up the hill.

Calshot Castle
Built by Henry VIII, Calshot Castle once protected Southampton’s water from passing ships. Make sure you visit the basement, 1st-floor barracks room, and 2nd-floor gun room to get the full history of the castle. You can bring pushchairs but any of the staircases are really narrow so it’s not recommended.

Calshot Activities Centre
Right on Southampton Water, Calshot Activities Centre has lots to offer the whole family, regardless of their age.
They have climbing walls, abseiling, archery, snowboarding, low and high ropes plus sailing and powerboating.
Calshot Activities Centre have a great on-site cafe that offers hot and cold food. This truly is a great day out that can be paired with Calshot Beach.

National Motor Museum Beaulieu
Based near the New Forest, Beaulieu is packed full of cars that are steeped in history.
With over 250 vehicles, a high-level monorail and The Palace House and gardens, this is a full day out for the whole family. The ticket covers all the attractions including the Mini Motor play area and Mill Pond Walk.They have onsite restaurants, parking and picnic benches. Great for all ages.

Calshot Marshes Local Nature Reserve
This flat mashlands is a great place to find local wildlife. Put your wellies on and explore the saltmarsh. It’s right next to Calshot Beach so a great place to go exploring when the kids are bored of the beach.
